Reem Acra Fall/Winter 2014 About the Collection

The Reem Acra bride is young, fresh and modern. Reem expresses how this collection is a reflection of the modern day bride. This collection was romantic, sensual yet modern. Every silhouette is light, and feathered like. Reem Acra’s Fall 2014 collection is all about the silhouette. A-line shapes, column dresses and fit-and-flare styles are combined with textures like organza, tulle and silk gazar. Lace has a major moment but in a modern way.

My team of stylist each represents one singular message, to create a unique sense of the bride through beauty. We search for the inner beauty the women encompass and then we dress her to become the bride she is meant to be.

The Journey to Your Dream Wedding Dress Experience

It begins for some during childhood with Fairy Tales, flower girls, and dress up. A girl’s fantasy of becoming a princess like Cinderella. Her dress up games. The moment she walked down the aisle as a flower girl. The wedding dress is a dream you fantasize about for years. It is a journey.

Find meaning in the journey. A gown is both an expression of a feeling and a statement. One piece can be romantic and have a high level of craftsmanship. Another, could express sophistication and elegance with clean lines and Parisian design elements. An avant-guard woman could select a modern and contemporary piece that exudes vision and modernism.

My role is to assist, guide, and direct the journey to your dress. Think of me and my EA team as storytellers, creating a woman’s styled look for her Wedding. We learn about who you are, what you think is beautiful, and how you see silhouettes, design, and fabrics. Your style and personality begin this story with Ever After. As the fashion curator for your wedding gown, I search for couture fashion for each and every one of my brides. You know what you want; we are the facilitators who make your dream dress come true.

Part of the wedding journey is selecting and experiencing these works of art. This historic garment, over time, will evoke many emotions. The image of you in this gown will last beyond your wedding and through your lifetime. It will also reside as a lasting memory of you as a woman. I and Ever After are honored to be part of the journey to your dream dress.

Journey Tips

1. Write a descriptive paragraph of your vision of you as a bride.
2. Choose your three top silhouettes.
3. Choose the three design elements you love in a gown. Ex. Beading, texture, draping
4. Choose three fabrics.
5. What iconic bridal image stands out to you? Ex. Royalty, Famous person, Socialite, Family, or Friend

This collection Vera Wang focused on couture and on the workmanship of these gowns. Extreme drapes, a lot of detailing, mixtures of fabrics and an array of layering. This collection was certainly a reflection of the 50′s. Vera Wang is a designer who is not afraid of changing things and it reflects in this collection, the corals, dusty roses, and pinks are absolutely stunning. Full big skirts in gorgeous pinks, and dusty rose. So feminine, Vera Wang always gives the bride a breathe of fresh air. Girls are now breaking boundaries using colors and its absolutely stunning.

An Extraordinary Ever After Experience with Camille Thiry Russler

Camille Thiry Russler of the atelier Ever After Miami provides the most extraordinary  experience when it comes to selecting the perfect gowns for a bride’s wedding wardrobe.

When Rachel Johnson of The Thomas Faison Agency calls, Camille begins to procure the dream wedding fashion experience for her clients.

Working with Alexis Welch Stoudemire was an exceptional journey that began at New York Bridal Fashion week in October of 2012 and continued with a private showing of gowns in a  photo studio where Alexis, with her family and friends, selected her bridal look.

In January of 2013, Camille traveled to Paris to select couture pieces to complete the bride’s wedding wardrobe.

As April approached in New York we finalized her story.

Alexis was expecting through this journey and all the pieces were fitted at the atelier Ever After Miami the week of the wedding.

On the wedding day, Alexis and her bridal party were received by Camille at Ever After Miami to be dressed for the big day. “It was an honor to provide an extraordinary Ever After experience for such an exceptional woman!” -Camille Thiry Russler

It was a delight to attend Couture Fall 2013 as the streets of Paris were alive as the gorgeous summer sun streamed into the Couture showrooms.

Giambattista Valli Fall 2013

Traveling to Paris for fashion week I believe is unique to my world of the white dress. I make this extra effort to deliver the best most unique assortment of gowns for the bride of today.

Giambattista Valli Fall 2013

It seemed that the collections had a sense of electricity in comparison to what I had seen in January, when it was bitter cold and there was snow on the ground, or maybe it was just the warmth of the sun that breathed a beautiful energy into the city of Paris during fashion week.

Elie Saab Fall 2013

On this visit to Paris it was lovely to give another Ever After Bride a truly Extraordinary Ever After Experience as she joined me in Paris to select her dream dress.

Fall 2013 Couture Review

Couture is fundamentally what you don’t see: the way a garment is constructed, the reason it’s done by hand, and how that literally gives shape to fashion. The modern couturier gives weight to the unseen and persuades others to do so as well. Here are some of my favorite looks from Paris Couture Fashion Week.

Vera Wang tells an elegant Black and White Story for her Spring 2014 Bride.

The Vera Wang Spring 2014 Bridal Collection celebrates a sense of architecture and discipline. The graphic play of black and white, the layering of new laces, texture on texture and an exploration of different volumes all express a new level of modern sensuality with a decidedly fashion edge. Take a closer look here and see my reaction to the latest collection.
